Prerequisite
The first Semester course.
Goal
Discovery of the Chinese language and knowledge of the country's culture.
Master the main functions of communication and of the most basic and ordinary structures of the modern Chinese language.

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
- Face daily situations: in a restaurant, take public transportation,
- Ask for simple information: ask for a destination, go to the post office, write basic characters,
- Master common vocabulary.
Presentation
Phonetic, the four pronunciation tones, basic vocabulary, basic grammar.
Construction of simple sentences, capacity to read helped by "Pinyin" and write Chinese characters.
Oral and written translations.

Forms of instruction
This course uses audio and video means, listening to tapes and repeating, reading texts in class, watching movies in Chinese and group discussions.
