Prerequisite
Students should have basic knowledge of key concepts on research methodolog.
Goal
The central objective of this seminar is to broaden the students’ background on widely studied economics and business topics. The aim is also to give them methodology of the reading and analysis the scientific papers. After having this seminar, the students will be able to carry out their final thesis.

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
- have background on widely studied economics and business topics,
- assimilate appropriate research methods dealing with scientific papers,
- have a critical analysis of literature in the area,
- enhance their capacity of developing arguments and analysing situations,
- carry out their final thesis (or consulting project) next semester (or year).
Presentation
- Presentation of a scientific paper
- Introduction and definition of a research project (mini-thesis)
- Building conceptual framework
- Selecting appropriate research methods
- Definition of hypotheses and recognizing assumptions
- Analysis of empirical results

Evaluation
The students will have to present an example of scholarly work, such as a scientific paper, and also undergo coaching while working on a mini-thesis. Feedback will be provided using inividual coaching sessions.
