Prerequisite
The student has recently and successfully completed a beginner’s course (level A1): he/she can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. He/she can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details (...). He/she can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help ©CEFR
Goal
At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to key areas (personal and family information, travel information, shopping, local costums and labor. He/she can describe his/her background, immediate environment. He/she can manage a certain degree of autonomy in a francophone country and can produce simple connected texts on areas of interest. Presentation
The class is structured around the following speech acts: present and describe a person; present a cultural fact; compare; locate events in time; ask and give explanations / justifications; express feelings and opinion; participate in a conversation.
The following topics will be developed: the immediate environment and everyday life; travel and intercultural exchanges, familiarisation with topical news items....
Language structures cover: the present tense (revision / consolidation); past tenses (perfect past Vs imperfect), the future; simple pronominalisation (direct and indirect object pronouns, relative pronouns); time markers; the comparison; main logical connectors. Conditional mood in polite requests.
