Financial knowledge at Bachelor 2 level is required, and basic knowledge of financial markets and instruments; Finance Fundamentals course done

- Understand what is Risk and how the Insurance industry is accepting risk
- Understand different types of insurance, main players, types of distribution
- Understand the 4 key processes for success in insurance: Risk Mangement, Underwriting, Invesments / Portfolio Management and Operations / Claims Handling
- How does a General / Non-Life Insurance company make money?
- What is Life Insurance and Pensions?
- Understand Finance for Insurers, ratios, the role of solvency capital and capital adequacy, regulations / SOLVENCY II

Evaluation
3 Cases, 30mn and 20% each = 60%; Final Exam: 40%.
For each group case, written feedback by e@mail will be given to the group. In case of a presentation in class, written feedback will be obtained from students and used in my group-e@mail with feedback to the group.
For each individual case, I will send a general e@mail to class, with feedback on the case.
Finally, I will write an e@mail to the group after the Final Exam with some general remarks about what was important in responding to the exam questions.
