Solid understanding of strategic management, organisational behaviour and cross-cultural management
Goal
At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
-Understand the process value creation and synergy realisation in different M&A situations
•Apply concepts learned in previous courses such as PEST Analysis, Competitive Dynamics, SWOT analysis and value chain in the context of M&A
•Comprehend the different perspectives of the process (economic, financial, managerial, strategic and organisational)
•Understand the motives and strategies for M&A and the legal issues of the transaction
•Understand the process of deal structuring and negotiation as well as target selection and valuation
•Analyse the dynamics of post-acquisition integration process
•Identify the factors that enhance post-acquisition organisational performance.
(All these issues will be covered with reference to both domestic and cross-border M&A deals)
