Every year, the Université Catholique de Lille welcomes international students who wish to obtain a French higher education diploma at one of our institutions. This page outlines the steps to follow and the essential information you need to apply for a course offered by one of the institutions of the University, depending on your nationality, your country of residence, your secondary school certificate and your level of study.

European student
You are considered a European student if you are a national of one of the following countries:
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.
Student under the “Études en France” procedure
The “Études en France” procedure is the reference procedure for countries outside the European Union. You come under the “Études en France” procedure if you live in one of the following 69 countries:
Azerbaijan, Algeria, Argentina, Bahrain, Benin, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Comoros, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gabon, Georgia, Ghana, Guinea, Haiti, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, United States, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Qatar, Russia, Senegal, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Vietnam.
Application procedures if you are a European student
European students follow the same procedures as French students to enrol at the Université Catholique de Lille.
Applying for the first year of a Bachelor’s degree
You need to apply via the “Parcoursup” platform. This application process is compulsory for most courses offered by higher education institutions.
Applying for a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree
There is no specific procedure for registering for the 2nd or 3rd year of a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree. You need to contact the relevant establishment directly to apply.
Application procedures if you live in Europe but are not European
Applying for the first year of a Bachelor’s degree
Students living in Europe who are not nationals of a European country must submit a DAP – Demande d’Admission Préalable (white file) to the cooperation and cultural action department of the French embassy in their country of residence before the academic year in which they wish to begin their studies in France.
Foreign students residing in France who are not French nationals and who do not hold or intend to hold a French or European baccalaureate must also submit a DAP – Demande d’Admission Préalable (green file).
The DAP does not apply to students from Ukraine who have temporary protection. They must apply directly to the university of their choice.
Applying for a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree
You should contact the school concerned directly to apply for enrolment.
Application procedures if you live in a country covered by the "Études en France" procedure
The Études en France platform is entirely paperless and allows you to manage all the procedures involved in enrolling at a higher education establishment, right through to applying for a visa. All you have to do is create a personal electronic file and follow the instructions.
You will be able to submit your application, communicate with the Campus France office in your country and contact the institutions you wish to apply to.
You will be asked to make a financial contribution to this support service.
Please note that even if the “Études en France” procedure applies in your country of origin, if you are a non-European student living in Europe, you do not need to return to your country or follow this procedure.
Applying for the first year of a Bachelor’s degree
The procedures for applying to register for 1st year undergraduate studies vary according to your situation.
If you live in a country covered by the “Études en France” procedure …
… and you have the nationality of the country in which you reside
(For example, you live in Algeria and have Algerian nationality)
If you are preparing for a French or European baccalaureate, you will need to make your wishes on the “Parcoursup” platform and follow the “Études en France” procedure at the same time.
If you are preparing another degree (giving access to French higher education), you will need to submit a DAP – Demande d’Admission Préalable – and follow the “Études en France” procedure. The DAP is done online via the “Études en France” platform.
… and you are a national of a European Union country, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Andorra or Monaco
(For example, you live in Canada but have Belgian nationality)
You only need to make your wishes on the “Parcoursup” platform.
Applying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
You must follow the “Études en France” procedure until you obtain a student visa.

Applying for a doctorate
The Études en France procedure does not apply to foreign students who wish to apply to study for a doctorate. Contact the doctoral schools that offer the research subjects that interest you directly.
Application procedures if you are neither a European citizen nor from a country covered by the "Études en France" procedure
Applying for the first year of a Bachelor’s degree
If you are a non-European and do not live in one of the countries covered by the “Études en France” procedure, you must follow the DAP (Demande d’Admission Préalable) procedure.
Applications must be submitted to the Cooperation and Cultural Action Department of the French Embassy in your country of residence. White applications are for first-year university students and green applications are for foreign students already living in France.

Application deadlines
"Parcoursup" in 5 steps
1 – Open the platform
Discover all our training courses on the website.
2 – Register and express wishes
Enter your application wishes on Parcoursup, up to 10 depending on your study plans.
3 – Confirm your wishes
Last day to finalise your application with the information required by the courses.
4 – Go through the main admissions phase
Consult regularly the responses in Parcoursup, responses are compulsory within the time limits indicated.
5 – End of the main admissions phase
Take a look at the offers made by the schools and accept or decline.
Start of school registrations.
The dates are subject to change each year and can be accessed directly on the platform.
4-step DAP procedure
1 – Start of registration
The DAP procedure allows you to choose between 1 and 3 courses and apply to a maximum of 3 universities for the white DAP and 2 institutions for the yellow DAP.
2 – Closing date for entries
Appointment deadline for online processing and validation of applications.
3 – Response from universities and acceptance proposals
The universities will be able to inform you of any proposed exemptions you may be eligible for.
4 – Student response
If you have received several offers of acceptance, you will need to make a choice.
Please note that if you do not reply before 31 May, the absence of a reply will be considered as a refusal.
The timetable for the Demande d’Admission Préalable (DAP) is subject to change each year. Please consult the information directly on the website.
Procedure outside DAP
Please consult the Campus France website in your country of residence for the application timetable for non-DAP courses (from Licence 2 to Master’s).
Finalise your registration
Once your application has been accepted, you will finalise your enrolment with your host institution before the start of the course. Final enrolment consists of an administrative section and an educational section:
1 – Completing the file
2 – Choice of curriculum and options (optional courses, sports activities, etc).
3 – Your school will issue you with a certificate of enrolment and a student card, certifying your legal status as a student. These documents are issued in person, after payment of the enrolment fee.
