At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
To understand how business law can impact international business, and to act proactively rather than reactively to tackle legal issues.
To be able to think strategically and identify the business structure that suits her needs best.
To identify anti-competitive practices and illegal practices that may result in civil and/or criminal liability.
To know how to protect strategic intangible assets (Intellectual Property Rights) and manage themeffectively.
To be aware of the different legal systems that exist worldwide and how they impact business, in particular Civil Law and Common Law.

1. Legal Systems of the World. Why law matters when doing business globally (Civil Law, Common Law, Islamic Law, etc.).
2. Comparative Company Law (choosing the best legal structure for your business) and Principles of Corporate Governance.
3. International Business Contracts, CISG, Unidroit, INCOTERMS, and Dispute Resolution (Mediation and Arbitration).
4. Intellectual Property Law (protecting your valuable intangible assets worldwide).
5. Antitrust/Competition Law (US and EU perspectives).
6. Corporate Criminal Liability and Anticorruption Laws (and the importance of compliance programs).
