No prerequisite is necessary to attend this course; however previous knowledge on Purchasing, Operations and Supply Chain Management or work experience on these topics, are an asset.

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:

1. Describe the characteristics of supply chains and networks and identify supply network challenges
2. Identify critical issues for an organization to attain world-class supply management
3. Detect the opportunities that an organization has for organising, facilitating and managing a
Supplier’s Development project and understand the levers that can be used to improve supplier’s
performance
4. Know how to measure supplier’s performance in areas that really matter
5. To get acquainted with the various approaches, models, and strategies of Supplier Development
6. To describe the Supplier Development process
7. To describe tools (Ex: Six sigma, value analysis)and techniques (Ex: Cost analysis, Partnerships) for
Supplier Development management and measurement in terms of typical applications and steps in
using them
8. To get a differentiated view of Supplier Development practices through existing Supplier
Development initiatives
