Methodologies : Students should be capable of undertaking their own research and presenting it to others in English using PowerPoint. They should have the ability to read and analyse an English novel.
Knowledge : Students should be able to understand spoken English, aswell as identifying and commmunicating specific information to others in the language. They should have the ability to write a summary and a book review in English.
At the end of the course the students should be able to :
Understand why the people, the history and traditions of the United Kingdom have made it what it is today, having achieved an in-depth knowledge of ‘true’ British culture. Use the knowledge acquired of the different aspects of the culture such as the monarchy, the government, the media etc. in order to appreciate the current position of the nation in relation to other countries, countries.
An overall view of different aspects of British life and traditions. Consideration of its geographical location, the media, the government, the monarchy, social profiles, culture and style, and some of the well-known people who are contributing or have contributed something to the nation to make it what it is today.
One of the Iéseg Associations organizes a weekend in London which could be interesting for British Culture students in order to have concrete experience of some of the elements talked about in class.16
