The prerequisites for this course are as follows:
(1) The students must have acquired background knowledge of production/operations management.
(2) The students must have sufficient knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and probability distribution.

At the end of the course , the student should be able to:

– Design processes to serve customers in a timely fashion while maintaining high productivity (AOL-3.B),
– Understand the role of demand forecasting and generate forecasts using suitable forecasting techniques (AOL-6.B, AOL-2.C),
– Understand and further select suitable quantitative models to control processes such as high product quality can be maintained (AOL-3.A, AOL-2.C, AOL-6.A),
– Understand the reasons for queues often seen in business processes and develop quantitative approaches to reduce queues (AOL-2.C, AOL-3.A, AOL-6.A).
