The objective of the course is to enable students to understand how firms can effectively manage
risks in uncertain environment and how to analyze corporate value creation. It provides students
with tools to gain an i n depth understanding of companies decision making process on capital
structure, risk management and asset valuation.
We assume that you are comfortable with the issues covered in the bachelor and master 1
programs, in particular these related to: financial analysis accounting, finance, financial
reporting. The course adopts a managerial perspective, with lectures supported by real life case
studies.
The aim of this course is to:
- Develop advanced understanding of the key topics in corporate finance, as well as the ability to understand and use financial concepts in the professional context.
- Provide tools to analyze company’s value creation and to value company’s asset and investment. Help to understand firm’s decisions regarding ca pital structure, risk management, and financial relations with various stakeholders (shareholders, banks, public authorities, etc.).
- Develop the ability to understand, critically analyze and evaluate the economic situation and its role in the business env ironment of the company.
