At the end of the course the student should be able to :

– Define a research problem (different methodologies)
– Build a literature review (how to find relevant scientific sources)
– Build a set of hypothesis
– Appreciate the importance of including the notions of uncertainty and of ethics in knowledge.
– Work effectively in a group.
– Use different bibliographic resources and develop the ability to judge the scientific ones.
– Use different software tools (Excel).
– Develop ability to use the appropriate research design given the research question & hypothesis.
– Use appropriate statistical tools to interpret results.

The following points will be tackled:
– define a research problem (different methodologies) and build a literature review (how to find relevant scientific sources)
– build a set of hypothesis and model the problem
– test the validity of the hypothesis & interpretation
– conclusions & future research
