At the end of the course, the student should be able to:

– Know basic principles of IPRs at the international, regional and national level. Be able to compare and contrast different legal system
– Define what are the access requirements for being granted an intellectual property right (IPRs);
– Choose the most appropriate IPR for their production;
– Identify who are the right owner and when their consent is required;
– Understand what are the activities that fall under the scope of IPRs;
– Identify and choose different ways of IPRs management;
– Understand open policies and open licences (content and functioning);
– Be able to think strategically and choose the most suitable open licence (if any);
– Apply legal rules to concrete scenarios autonomously and in group
