Communicating in various communication situations, drawing on strategies developed in class, including identifying the situation, choosing appropriate structures and using an adequate vocabulary range, (pour atteindre un niveau C1 à la fin de l’année).
– Expressing yourself fluently in writing and orally about general and professional topics, using accurate grammar and pertinent vocabulary.
– Understanding precisely a genuine message, whether audio visual or written.
This course develops the following professional skills:
– Understanding, analysing and interpreting one’s environment (general knowledge), including the global context.
– Developing your personality with an emphasis on values of integrity, open-mindedness, tolerance, and respect.
– Being able to lead a team and manage projects from start to finish, including in an international context.
Knowledge:
– Intermediate English grammar knowledge (tenses, modals, more complex structures).
– Professional English vocabulary.
Skills:
– Understanding relatively complex written and audio visual documents.
– Expressing yourself orally and in writing, naturally, fluently and efficiently.
Social skills:
– Understanding and recognising how important English is in your academic and professional life.
– Class attendance, motivation and seriousness; participation and curiosity.
General and professional English topics, often interlinked, which make it possible to strengthen knowledge of vocabulary, culture and sentence structure:
– Current affairs, economic and political topics.
– Registers and their use in various communication situations.
– Aspects and use of English in the communication scope.
– The business world (recruitment, functions and duties, etc.).
– Reviewing intermediate grammar rules and expanding knowledge to complex rules (tenses, modals, etc.).
– Introduction to Anglo-Saxon literature (reading a novel).
