Students should have basic knowledge of statistics. They should also have a good understanding of important issues in the Information Systems field.
At the end of the course the student should be able to :
– explain the basic tenents of research,
– find and sythesize existing research (literature),
– develop a good research question,
– choose an appropriate research method,
– design and communicate a qualitative research method
This course introduces the language of research, relevant ethical principles and challenges, and the elements of the research process related to quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches. In teams, participants will complete a structured literature review in their area of interest. Additionally, teams will develop a qualitative research proposal to address one of the research questions developed in the literature review.
