At the end of the course the student should be able to :
Identify the 5 transportation modes and learn their respective characteristics:
– Discuss intermodal transportation
– Familiarize with several types of transportation specialists
– Understand the role of Incoterms in determining transportation responsibilities, risks, and costs
– Analyse the different network design options and discuss their strengths and weaknesses (AACSB- LO5C)
– Evaluate the trade-offs in transportation network design (AACSB- LO5D)
– transportation infrastructure: transportation mode and intermodal transportation
– transportation operations : pricing, rates, paperwork and incoterms
– transportation and supply chain: design of transportation network & tradeoffs
