Prerequisite
Solid background in Economics and Quantititave methods.
Goal
At the end of the course the student should be able to :
- Define a research problem (different methodologies)
- Build a literature review (how to find relevant scientific sources)
- Build a set of hypothesis
- Appreciate the importance of including the notions of uncertainty and of ethics in knowledge.
- Work effectively in a group.
- Use different bibliographic resources and develop the ability to judge the scientific ones.
- Use different software tools (Excel).
- Develop ability to use the appropriate research design given the research question & hypothesis.
- Use appropriate statistical tools to interpret results.

Evaluation
At the begnning of each session students pass a quizz in order to check attentive reading and understanding of the indicated textbook chapters before coming to the class. An extended Assignment is handed in to students at the beginning of the semester that they have to complete (in groups of 4) before the end of the semester. Professor guidance on this Assignement is offered during each session. A theortical and practical final exam concluds this course.
