Objectifs
At the end of the course the student should be able to :
- understand how non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have become exponentially more prominent, over the past century in virtually every region of our unequally contrasting world
- practice techniques and strategies related to project management within NGOs (through case studies of different established international NGOs)
- approach confidently this field of activities: the so-called "Aid market", especially by identifying historical or current issues, trends and concepts
- identify various types of volunteer implication and career: examples include working on humanitarian / development projects for starving or affected communities but also managing projects (from assessing or budgeting to implementing operational activities) as a program manager in an International Organization or even in a private company foundation.

- International development and humanitarian assistance
- Presentation of the UN agencies (UNDP, UNICEF), Millennium Goals
- Public (ECHO, USAID), religious (CCFD, Islamic Relief) and private Financers
- Key issues related to the development of NGOs (independence, specialisation)
- Operational Efficiency, Sustainability and Evaluation
- Strategic Planning in international public or non-governmental organizations
- Case studies: UNDP, Oxfam, Care, Red Cross, Solidarités…
- International development and humanitarian assistance
- Presentation of the UN agencies (UNDP, UNICEF), Millennium Goals
