Objectifs
At the end of the course, students should be able to :
- Identify and explain economic concepts and theories related to the behavior of economic agents, markets, industry and firm structures, legal institutions, social norms, and government policies;
- Analyze the determinants and consequences of the international integration of markets as well as the challenges and risks of international trade and investments (AACSB);
- Appreciate the impact of globalization on goods, labor, and financial markets (AACSB).
Présentation
This course deals with the following topics:
- Introduction to the global environment;
- Causes and consequences of international trade;
- The fragmentation of the value chain: foreign direct investment, international outsourcing;
- The regulation of international trade: trade policy instruments, domestic government and the WTO and regional economic integration.
